Account Registration

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

• Use the Service to scan websites you do not own or have permission to scan
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits or restrictions
• Use the Service to harm, harass, or violate the rights of others
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our scanning algorithms
• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Transmit viruses, malware, or other malicious code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems

Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the websites and URLs you submit for scanning. You represent and warrant that you have the right to request scanning of such websites and that doing so does not violate any applicable laws or third-party rights.

Plan Types

• Free Plan: Limited scanning with basic features
• Professional Plan: Enhanced scanning capabilities and features
• Enterprise Plan: Full feature access with priority support

Billing and Payment

• Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
• All payments are processed securely through Stripe
• Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as specifically stated
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice
• Overdue accounts may result in service suspension
• You authorize us to charge your payment method for applicable fees

Cancellation and Refunds

• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
• We offer a 14-day free trial for new Professional plan subscribers
• Refunds may be provided at our discretion for unused portions of annual subscriptions
• Free plans may be discontinued at any time with reasonable notice

Our Rights

The Service, including all content, features, functionality, algorithms, and software, is owned by Compliance Checking Pro and is protected by intellectual property laws. You acknowledge that:

• We retain all rights, title, and interest in the Service
• No rights are granted except as expressly set forth in these Terms
• You may not reproduce, modify, or create derivative works of our Service
• Our trademarks and logos may not be used without our written permission

Your Rights

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

• Access and use the Service for your internal business purposes
• Generate and download compliance reports for your own use
• Use our API in accordance with the API documentation

Feedback

Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about the Service become our property and may be used without restriction or compensation.

Service Disclaimers

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS
• WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
• WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE
• YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

Data Processing

• We process website data solely to provide compliance scanning services
• We do not store unnecessary personal data from scanned websites
• Scan results are retained according to your subscription plan
• We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data

Data Controller/Processor

For personal data we collect about you (account information, etc.), we act as a data controller. For data we process on your behalf during website scanning, we act as a data processor under your instructions.

By You

You may terminate your account and these Terms at any time by canceling your subscription through your account dashboard or by contacting us.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service:

• For violation of these Terms
• For non-payment of fees
• For misuse of the Service
• If required by law
• At our discretion with 30 days' notice for free accounts

Effects of Termination

• Your access to the Service will be discontinued
• Your data will be deleted according to our data retention policy
• You may request a final export of your data within 30 days
• Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved through binding arbitration in San Francisco, California, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated with 30 days' notice. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Compliance Checking Pro regarding the Service.
